If you're a walker or runner, try the Hendricks Park trails through the flower gardens (rhododendrons and azaleas, among many others) on the left-hand side of the road as you head uphill, or wander through the forest trails that are more to the right-hand side. (There's limited parking near Hendricks Park if you'd rather drive to the trails.)
Additionally, try to get over to Pre's Rock, which memorializes running legend Steve Prefontaine, followed by a stroll around the corner and down the hill past Pre's Rock to enjoy the best view in Eugene—one that's especially nice at sunset.
