Bring your bathing suit, shorts and tees with a sweatshirt for the evening. Small stores like Dollar General are within 5 miles for the little things you forget. 1 grocery store and gas station in Bronson. Coldwater - 10 miles away has SuperWalmart, Meijer, CVS, Dunhams, Family Farm & Home, Home Depot and chain restaurants Unless you paid for linens - Please don't forget sheets, pillow cases, towels and blankets. Mattress covers and pillows provided. Basic kitchen items are provided. We try to stock enough propane and wood to get you started. Both items can be purchased locally.

Kat's Cottages were built in the 1950's. They have been owned by my family for the past 15 years. If you laugh at the quirks and embrace the charm your family will have a great time! The entire property is sitting on water... so the floors slant and the windows might not open but know that every corner of Kat's Cottages is filled with love and a funny story! The week of your stay you will receive an e-mail with the door codes. Each cottage has a lockbox - enter the 4 digit code, pull down the lever- keys will be inside. Please keep the keys in the lockbox during your stay so you don't get locked out. Trash must be bagged and put in trashcans by the drive. Trash runs early Tuesday morning - please make sure cars are not blocking access to the cans. Mowers come on Tuesday and or Thursday. They will ask you to move any chairs, personal items etc. Please allow them to mow, they are quick... we want it ready for our next guests!

All good things must come to an end... Check- Out Checklist: Put canoes, kayaks etc into the garage and lock the door Clean and put gas grill in the garage Stack chairs and loungers off of the grass and on garage deck Bag all trash and put into trash cans outside Broom sweep floors / mop if needed If you rented towels - hang to dry If you rented sheets - leave on the bed Empty and wipe down refrigerator and freezer Return hide-a-beds to couch position Turn off AC's and TV's Lock Doors / Keys in Lockbox

Wi- Fi is serviced by Frontier. Although high speed the Wi-Fi is not dependable. For basic phone searches and streaming you should be fine. If you need to video conference or zoom I recommend bringing a pocket wi-fi or head to a local coffee shop There is not cable. Beds: Teal Cottage 2 - Bedroom 1 - 1 Full / Bedroom 2 -2 twins / LR - 1 pull out couch Gray Cottage 3 - Bedroom 1- I queen / Bedroom 2 - 1 full / LR - 2 pull out couches We only provide mattress and pillow covers. Please remember to bring sheets, pillow cases, towels and blankets. We do not have a washer/dryer on site. If you would like to pay for linens the fee is $200 for sheets and towels. Kat's Cottages are one of the safest places you can be but we are following COVID-19 guidelines Please remember to wash your hands and use sanitizer as needed. We have chosen not to provide linens and have removed a lot of surface decor from the cottages. We are also allowing 48 hours in between stays for COVID precautions. If a member of your group does get sick - Coldwater Regional Hospital is at 247 E. Chicago St. Coldwater, MI 49036 / 517.279.5400 We recommend you call local restaurants and stores to ensure they are open for business during COVID.

Our hearts are broken that the last tornado took out our old willows and damaged a lot of the property. We have made a lot of the repairs but still have a ways to go. Hopefully COVID shortages will decrease and we can get some new docks, trees and shade back on the peninsula. Right now there are not enough workers or supplies. If you have skills in docks, trees, or construction and want to make a trade let us know!

There is string along the edge of the property to deter the geese. Please be careful not to trip over the string and if you are removing the string on the beach please put it back at the end of each day or you will be stepping in goose poo the next day.
