Can't leave Cairns without making a trip over to Fitzroy Island. All snorkel gear and stinger suits are available to hire over at the resort. You might see a stingray, sea turtle and so many different varieties of fish.
The bar and grill on the island offers great meals and drinks.

Fitzroy Island
When travelling to Fitzroy you can hire both Stinger suits and snorkel gear over on the island.
Highly recommend either hiring or buying aqua shoes, especially for the kids as the coral can hurt the feet.
food can brought on the island at the bar and grill, but you also have the option to pack an esky.
I have a beach trolley and chairs avaliable to borrow with a small deposit, this is the best way to travel over to Fitzroy Island, I use it all the time over there
