City/town information

St Albans is in the heart of the Macdonald valley, known by locals as "The Forgotten Valley". The village of Macdonald was surveyed in 1837 but renamed St Alabans on 26 January 1841 after the city of St Albans in England. Surrounded by wilderness it certainly gives you the feeling that nothing has much changed over the years. Established in 1836, the Settlers Arm Inn is built from convict - hewn sandstone, it's a popular getaway.
