voulisma beach is located on the northeast coast of the island of Crete, 15 kilometres south of Agios Nikolaos and 12 kilometres from Aikanto Residence. It is one of the most beautiful beaches of Crete, often the star of many postcards due to its unique beauty. Has a high rocky cliff rich in Mediterranean vegetation, fine sand with small stones at the ends of the beach and a splendid crystal clear sea, with turquoise shades.
Voulisma beach is equipped with a snack bar, sunbeds and umbrellas (in the main part of the beach), showers and toilets.
Keep in mind that, especially on weekends but generally in high season, the beach is quite visited, so try to arrive as soon as possible, so that you can admire the bay of Voulisma as nature has done!
If you deside to arrive by car, is only 15minutes from Agios Nikolaos. Parking will not be a problem, in fact you will find a large and free one right on the beach, or you can decide to leave your car in the parking lot on Old Road.

It is a small sandy beach with shallow waters, which is preffered both by locals and visitors. It is formed among large tamarisk trees and picturesque buildings, offering many options for eating around. The beach has also water sport facilities.

Παραλία Αμμούδι
Amnmoudi is located just 1 km north of Agios Nikolaos city centre and also from Aikanto Residence, in a large and well protected bay. It is a small sandy beach with shallow waters, which is preffered both by locals and visitors. It is formed among large tamarisk trees and picturesque buildings, offering many options for eating around. The beach has also water sport facilities.
Almiros beach is located 2.5km south of Agios Nikolaos and 1,3km from Aikanto Residence. Is the most popular beach of the city. It is shaped near the exit of Almiros river, which empties on the south part of the beach. Next to the beach, the protected wetland of Almiros hosts several rare birds, towering eucalyptus trees, reed and some palm trees.
The beach is quite long and very well-organized. It is sandy and the water is shallow and usually calm, making it ideal especially for young children. There are many options for water sports. The sea water is very cold in some places due to the river that flows all year around.

Almiros
Almiros beach is located 2.5km south of Agios Nikolaos and 1,3km from Aikanto Residence. Is the most popular beach of the city. It is shaped near the exit of Almiros river, which empties on the south part of the beach. Next to the beach, the protected wetland of Almiros hosts several rare birds, towering eucalyptus trees, reed and some palm trees.

Kolokytha ia a small island just oposite the Peninsula of Spinalonga, 12 km north of Agios Nikoilaos and close to Elounda. Opposite the island there is a fantastic beach of Agios Loukas, mostly know as Kolokytha. To access the beach you should first follow a scenic route: From the town of Elounda, follow the road leading to the east, along the shore. You will pass the old salt pans of Elounda on your right hand. The road at this point runs along a narrow strip of land and heads to the Peninsula of Spinalonga. Many visitors use to call Kolokytha as the natural swimming pool of Crete.

It runs near the stadium of the town and extends to the south, till the Municipal Beach. The part near Marina is a beautiful beach with umbrellas, sunbeds, showers and restaurant around it. It is located near the city center. The water is shallow, ideal for little kids and the sea is usually flat.
