Public transportation is plentiful and inexpensive and safe
There are many public buses in Bucerias that will take you all the way up north to Cruz and down south to Puerto Vallarta. Taxis are expensive but Uber does exist if you find a Uber driver in the area. Indriver or Didi (must download app) is an option where you set your own price i would suggest you look at driver reviews and utilize during daylight hours.
