Food Scene

True New Orleans, down-home cooking. Open 24 hours and always great service! When my friends and family come in town, I ALWAYS bring them to Melba's. It's a laundromat/restaurant/daiquiri bar. Eat at a laundromat? You bet! Make sure you check it out, otherwise, you haven't had genuine, New Orleans cooking without spending a lot of money.

An awesome bar where locals like to go. Great atmosphere and lots of fun to be had. Plus, their cocktail list is top-notch. Make sure to catch their all male-review, as well. Everyone here is friendly and eager to serve.

Located in one of our Arts Districts, I LOVE the AllWays Lounge. You must go to a show here. The atmosphere, the drinks, the service - it's all fantastic. Whether it's a burlesque show, variety show, live music, or a drag review - it's all good fun! There's a show almost everyday, check out their website for a full up-to-date calendar: www.theallwayslounge.net

A locals bar where all the locals are friendly and want to know who you are and where your from. Sometimes it’s open, sometimes it’s not! If it’s open, I highly suggest going in for a drink. This is by the far the friendliest locals bar in the city. I love this place! It looks a little different from the outside, but the inside is awesome. Take my word for it, you must stop here!

Parks & Nature

The City of New Orleans did get one thing right: its city park. A beautiful park to walk through or ride a Blue Bike. See all the water features and local plants. A must-see for anyone who enjoys the outdoors with elegant gardening and nearby shops.

There’s no name to this little park. But it’s a great place to catch a true New Orleans picture for your social media! I’m not going to tell you what it is, you have to discover if for yourself :)

This is a hub for Blue Bikes (even thought you don't need to go to a hub to pick one up). Blue Bikes is a cheap, great way to see the city! If you haven't noticed, New Orleans is heavily traveled by bicycles by locals and tourists alike. Download the app (SoBi) and create an account. I don't even own a bike because Blue Bikes is super easy to use. Pick a bike up, drop it off anywhere, and if you see one you want to use just enter in your account number. So easy to use!
