The Georgia Southern Eagles are the athletic teams of Georgia Southern University. The Eagles compete in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) (formerly I-A) and are members of the NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference.
Home football games are a lot of fun with traditional tailgating. GSU IS A D1 college level football team with many winning seasons.

Walking park
This walking park is one block away from my home. It is a quiet and safe area surrounded by a mature neighborhood. The fountain is on 80% of the year and dogs are welcome on a leash. Owners are expected to clean up after their pets.
Senior Citizen's Park
513 Hendrix StFree and 20 minutes away. This a very peaceful place to come and be quiet and destress. You can feel the peace this place offers right away once inside the beautiful gardens. A great place to go walk, meditate and pray.

I would be negligent to not mention the Claxton Fruitcake Co. and bakery. It is a long standing piece of history in our town for over 100 years. It has put Claxton on the map from around the world. I lived in Amsterdam Holland for a few years and was pleasantly surprised when I entered my local grocery and saw this little 1 lb wrapped package of home.

Free and only 25 miles away. This park has so much to offer. It has a large Waterpark, indoor pool, walking trails, children鈥檚 play area, tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields. Large open areas for picnics and lawn games.

About 15 miles west is Jack Hill State park in Reidsville. Really nice clean park where you can golf, put-put, rent kayaks or peddle boat. There is a small fee. For accurate rates look on their website at gastateparks.org
