Common heard phrases or terms & what they mean!
The "Root": Shortened version of "Bitterroot." We are known as the Bitterroot Valley and commonly referred to as Bitterrooters who live in the Root.
"Stevi": Short for Stevensville which is another small town approximately 20 miles north of Hamilton.
"Zootown": Nickname for Missoula which is the "big city" located 50 miles north of Hamilton. Everyone in the valley goes to Missoula for their shopping as their is a Costco, Walmart, Target, and most other big name box stores available there.
