This is a fun place to pick blueberries in the summertime. Picking time for blueberries is mid-June through mid-July typically. Other fruits are also available to pick at different times, depending on the season (apples, raspberries, blackberries, and peaches). It’s located right around the corner, about 5-10 minutes from the house.
There is also a restaurant on the property (fine dining).

Popular place to kayak, canoe and fish. From April 1st-October 31st canoes, kayaks and paddle boards can be rented for $10/hr or $30 for four hours and include life jackets and paddles. There are 3 trails and a variety of picnicking areas that surround the lake.

James River, Emmaus, Fellowship Bible Church, Redeemer, Hill City, Second Baptist, Hope, Connect Church, Dayspring, and many more including a Romanian (Ebenezer) and A Russian church (Bread of Life) as well as Chinese, Korean, and Burmese churches, most within a 25 minute drive.

Safety
The south side of town (where the house is located) is the wealthier side of town, and is considered safer. The North side of town is where the homeless population is primarily found. It is less safe, but is not too dangerous. Most feel comfortable walking alone in the downtown area in the daytime.
