The main entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park is only 6 miles away. Inside the Park, there are the Longmire and Paradise areas. It is like a wonderland. There are numerous trails for hiking and also for winter activities. It is magical.

The Spirit of Iron is an outdoor museum of sculptures. A world-renowned artist creates his work here and displays it. It is free-of-charge. It is located only two miles east of us. Very enjoyable.

(The above park is the Ashford County Park, which is located only 1/3 east of us). The small, mountain village of Ashford is located only 1/2 mile east of us. There are two espresso shops, two small grocery stores, a sports store (with reasonable rental equipment), a pottery shop and also two restaurants year-around (and other restaurants between early May and the end of September. The two restaurants open year-around are Paradise Village Restaurant, with bakery items, crepes and Ukrainian/Western menu items and the Copper Creek Restaurant, in this area for about 100 years, with a wide array of menu items. (Please check their hours...as they do change over the year). During the late spring, summer and early autumn, there are several other restaurants. The Basecamp Bar and Grill, the Wildberry and the Trailhead Bar and Grill. All are enjoyable and moderately-priced.the
