Au Sable River Getaway

One mile from the Mason Wilderness Tract, view eagles, deer and other wildlife out the front door, relax beside the peaceful South Branch of the Au Sable, a trout stream (catch and release, please), hunt in fall, enjoy cross-country skiing at several nearby trails including the 12-mile-long Mason Tract Trail, ski rentals, lessons and trails nearby. We are about 25 miles to the Soaring Eagle Casino and 30 to Central Michigan University. Enjoy our cozy one bedroom home that also features a sleeping, reading and rocking porch. It's only 1 mile from South Higgins Lake State Park and Marl Lake, which are the best places around for swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing. It's a 12 min drive to Roscommon and a 20 min drive to Houghten Lake, where you can find anything you need or want, including more beaches and water sports.
