The Hideaway - a cosy calm oasis

A cosy, calm oasis set in a spacious garden of fruit trees. This sun filled pad is the perfect base to relax in, or from which to explore Whanganui. The Hideaway is part of the owner’s art studio complex with its own deck. Guests will be greeted by med sized dog! Only 5km from town, facilities include dbl bed, smart TV, fridge, m-wave, toaster, hotplate, washing machine, clothes rack. Tea, coffee, herbal teas and light breakfast provided. Off street parking in drive. Some pets ok if arranged.

Whanganui Awa became the first waterway in the world to get legal personhood, in 2017. Staying next to her in "The Braeburn" is a rare opportunity to come inside this often admired building. Perfect for couples. It is based in the lovely quiet village of Rangataua which is only a 5-minute drive to Ohakune township where there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. The winter offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding, and summer offers lots of walks, mountain biking and fishing.

The Signal Box Riverside Accommodation- Whanganui

Stay in a beautifully restored New Zealand Railway Signal Box. This building has plenty of character and spectacular elevated views of the Whanganui River. Relocated in the late 1990's to its current position, the Signal Box is set on 5 acres of land with the adjacent family home, chicken run and farmland. Check out our website for more information. We are situated on Papaiti Road, on the true righthand side of the Whanganui River, approximately 8km up the river from the centre of the city.
