The townland system is of Gaelic origin, pre-dating the Norman invasion, and most have names of Irish Gaelic origin. It has panoramic views out to Cape Clear the iconic Fastnet Rock Lighthouse and beyond. Goleen village is just 10 minutes walk with it's eateries, pubs and shop.
