Amu House is a fully restored 16th century Swahili house with 7 comfortable, self contained guest rooms each with its own veranda on the two upper floors. We serve an optional full breakfast downstairs in the historic original Swahili house. We have a beautiful breezy rooftop with comfortable day beds for all our guests to enjoy. The interior design combines traditional Swahili woodcraft, African style and a touch of modern artistry. Jamala House is centrally located near Lamu Fort in the historic oldest part of Lamu. It is a quiet and private resort with a relaxing garden rebuilt to a high standard and reopened in 2018. All rooms have private baths with hot water. Jamala features a common kitchen, seating area and a rooftop with a great view of the sea. A continental breakfast can be enjoyed in the breakfast area. Sightseeing tours are available close to the property and dhow services can be arranged at a fair rate.
