Casa de Lila

The home of the legendary Oaxacan singer Lila Downs. Lila, her husband Paul, and Lila's mother Anita redesigned the home. Nowadays the hosts are experimenting life changes that do not allow them to receive and hang out with the guests as usual, therefore we ask you to be considered, respectful and self service as possible, we are a great maintenance team that will be in a schedule from 9am to 5pm Mon to Sat, to help with any urgent need. Our home is located right in the center of beautiful Tlacolula, Oaxaca. During your stay you can visit many tourist locations such as the Farmers Market where you can purchase organic foods/clothing (3 min away)! You can sight see our Mitla/MonteAlban ruins where you can enjoy the archaeological sights and take pictures (25-45 min away)! Enjoy Matatlan famous for its Mezcal (45 minutes away!) Visit the 2000 yr old Tule tree (30 min away)! Visit Teotitlan and see our textiles (15 min away)!

Altares a las Montañas

This traditional Oaxacan house, that has four beds, was handcrafted by local artisans in exquisite adobe walls, a shading porch, furnishings and decor. It nestles in gardens of trees and blooming succulents. Guests enjoy multiple level terraces, hammocks, an outside dining area, a 22-meter lap pool and spectacular mountain views. We are in a Zapotec town with nearby restaurants and have easy transportation to Oaxaca city (20 minutes). We offer tours to villages and archaeological sites.

Our house is a traditional hacienda-type house. The guest bedrooms have their only entries through the outside patio. The private heated pool awaits for a relaxing swim after a full day exploring ruins or touring the nearby pueblos! Lachigolo is a small and peaceful pueblo, about a 15-minute drive from Oaxaca along the Pan American Highway, and around 5 minutes past El Tule. The location makes it a good base for day trips to places like Hierve al Agua, Teotitlan, and Mitla.
