Watch the surrounding wildlife by the log burner or gather by the fire pit. Head ito Exmoor or Dartmoor & enjoy the many walks/bike rides; surf or explore the beaches. Help feed the animals and relax, recharge & re-connect!

Secluded tranquil woodland lodge with amazing view

Birdsong lodge is a wonderfully secluded romantic retreat, for couples or couples with young children. Accessed only on foot, you'll need to walk the 130m track, part of which is a steep 1:4. We will help you with your luggage if required. The lodge has small double bedroom and double sofa bed. The views will take your breath away, looking across the wooded valley, with just a glimpse of the sea. For summers evenings the stone seat with firepit/bbq is a perfect set to watch the sun go down.

‘The Hideout’ nestled amongst the beech trees, 10 minutes walk from the road, is a spacious, beautiful, warm, open-plan living space. It has a double bed tucked into its own nook, a log burning stove, sofas, camping style cooking facilities and a covered verandah. It is entirely hidden and secluded and your only neighbours will be the wildlife. There is a compost loo and a stream for bracing washes. Only 10 minute's drive from Barnstaple and 20 from Ilfracombe, with beaches at Saunton, Croyde and Putsborough, too. The apartment is a mile from the Tarka Trail (the most popular cycle route in the country). It is set in lovely grounds with a private balcony and a comfortable living area (sofa, armchairs and a large TV). The kitchen and dining area has an oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher.
