The main one is the Famous Sun Buns Bar and Grill that is located right next door. You can literally walk out the camps front door and walk there since the dock is attached to Sun Buns.

Lulu’s Louisiane Swamp Camp

Swamp Camp offers a unique peaceful retreat to nature enthusiasts in the heart of Louisiana swamp country. We are at the dead end of a quiet one mile road called “Happywoods.” Our camp, up on piers, is situated in the wetlands along the Tickfaw River and adjoining Tickfaw State Park. We look out onto a wilderness sanctuary with turtles, alligator, beaver, and otter along with a variety of water birds among the characters. The camp is built centered on a 300 plus year old cypress tree.

The whole group will enjoy easy access to everything from this centrally located place. The house is a two minute drive just off i-55 and a three minute drive to downtown Ponchatoula. You can be at the Hammond Square shopping center in appox. 10 minutes and into downtown Hammond or SLU in less than 15 minutes. It's a nice cozy place to stay to reach many venues in the area. The Blue Heron Guest House is a great place to just get away, enjoy nature, canoe (provided), fish the pond or the bayou, birdwatching (lots of birds), etc. The property does have a boat slip and a small boat launch for those who want to explore the area by boat. Bayou Manchac connects to the Amite River nearby. We can’t wait to share our paradise with you!
