We started building this house in 2019 with the idea to create a space which feels part of the land it is built on and in harmony with the ecosystem of Ladakh. A private bedroom in a mid-60s vintage Lodge built with just stone and wood, a work of enterprising Himalayan artistry. Previously occupied by the Forest Department, the cottage has now been restored as a homestay. The list of fruiting plants and vegetables grown here is endless. Around 80% of what you will eat here is locally sourced. The Lodge offers something that is all too quickly disappearing: peace, stillness, nature and an opportunity to disconnect with the outside world.
