It's across the road from the lake, and the picnic area is within walking distance (swimming and fishing, too). Our dogs don't know that this house is not theirs, so will be over daily to get their treats (we'll supply). So you must love dogs, farm animals and vegetable gardens. We're out in the country, so restaurants, gas stations are about a 15 min. drive.
