Our quaint log cabin tucked in the trees is host to homespun touches all around. Bird watch on any of our outdoor spaces or take a walk through our freshly mowed trails (jan-mar, jun-sept). Located in a migratory path, enjoy the essence of nature all around you.

Rustic decor cabin nestled in the iowa countryside. You will love the privacy and quiet nights! BBQ on the back deck or enjoy an evening by the firepit in the backyard (wood onsite). This rustic cottage is a quiet retreat in the heart of the Middle Raccoon River Valley. Situated on a private acreage within Whiterock Conservancy, guests can easily access 40mi+ of scenic hiking and mountain biking trails, float the nearby river, or enjoy dark sky viewing. A "rookery" is a nesting site for herons, a bird that prefers quiet, undisturbed habitat near water. And so the Rookery Cottage seeks to provide a natural escape from the daily grind.

The Cabin, located on a private lane, is a cozy and roomy getaway nestled in the woods overlooking the Mighty Mississippi River. It offers a peaceful respite with a kitchenette, large fireplace, and a deck overlooking the Mississippi River. It has a bedroom with a queen size bed and two twins in the great room. Enjoy hiking, playing board games, cooking, grilling out, or a just lazy night of TV and popcorn by the fire.

Cabin Cove By the River

Take a step back in time when you enter our little log cabin by the river. Built in 1949, this cabin is a replica of the log cabins built by the gold seekers of Alaska. Though modern in most aspects we have retained the native charm of unfinished wood, rough, hand-hewn logs and naked beams. The inspiration for the cabin was found by my great grandfather who spent time in Alaska working on the Alcan highway.
