For recreation there is hiking in the valley and nearby conservancy areas, biking on country roads, or cross-country, downhill or snowshoeing during the snowy months. Hawthorne is a 2-hour drive from NYC or a 2-hour Amtrak ride from Penn Station to Hudson, and then a 20 minute drive by car or taxi. The house is conveniently close to the Taconic Parkway, while set in a peaceful and quiet valley.

We’ve endeavored to make it a comfortable stay for a weekend or even longer, with all basic amenities, a queen size bed, standing shower bathroom, and kitchenette. Although it is an apartment on the ground floor of my house, you will have your privacy with a separate entrance off of the driveway which is for guest use during the stay.

Garden Paradise minutes from Hudson

We are just a 10 minute drive from Hudson's bustling Warren Street in the historic hamlet of Claverack. We live on the property, but our guesthouse is separate and private. It's all surrounded by our 2 1/2 acre garden, which is our passion as well as our profession. We've recently adapted a 2 year old standard poodle named Nora. She is a very shy little girl, and will win your heart. We are sorry, but we do not accept pets or children under 12.
