Period cottage, cosy sittingroom individual host

Self contained part of charming thatched cottage in this attractive South Oxfordshire village, between Didcot (2.5 miles) and Wallingford (3.5 miles). The accommodation has its own entrance, sitting room - with inglenook fireplace (only use electric fire provided) - and steep, winding stairs leading to the large bedroom with vaulted ceiling and superking bed. Guests will have sole use of the adjoining bathroom. Period features also include low beams, but rule out a shower. Not for children.

The Pottery Barn

This is a self contained annex above a double garage (please note low roof angles in places) with an independent door. It has one king size bed with some seating and a TV and dinning table. There is a small kitchenette including a microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. The ensuite has a basic electric shower and usual amenities. There is internet available. If you would like to bring a child please contact us before to check if suitable. There is parking on the main road or opposite in a Close.

The Studio at Kennet House : a historic home

A spacious & comfortable Studio. Self contained & private. The Studio is part of the historic ‘Listed’ Grade II* Kennet House, built in 1701 by the Bishop of Oxford, nestled near the village pond, the church & the village pub. The Studio is on the first floor via a private staircase.

The Annexe has its own off-road parking space. The Annexe is a 10 minute walk from the town centre and also only a 5 minute drive to the M4. A wide variety of excellent pubs, restaurants, shops and supermarkets are all within walking distance. Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) is 15 minutes by car. Vodafone Headquarters is a 15 minute walk, or 5 minutes by car. Newbury Racecourse is a 15 minute walk, or 5 minutes by car. Newbury railway station is a 15 minute walk, or 5 minutes by car.

The nearest pub for good food and a drink is a short walk away and the local farm shop is close by.

The Hay Loft at Heads Hill Farm

Set on a former dairy farm, on the Berkshire/Hampshire border, The Hay Loft is a recently converted first floor studio flat finished to a superb standard. With views of Watership Down, The Hay Loft is off a quiet country lane leading directly into the Greenham Common nature reserve; it offers a very restful, rural retreat. A lovely self-contained annex furnished to a high standard in a quiet rural location on the Berkshire/Hampshire border, close to Newbury and Oxford and walking distance to Highclere Castle, where Downton Abbey was filmed. Secluded garden area with seating and BBQ for outdoor dining. The annex is completely separate from our house with its own entrance and there's an allocated parking space. Well behaved dogs are always welcome and there are some lovely walks on our doorstep.

Close to Newbury, 1 hour to Oxford, Windsor, Bath, Winchester and Stonehenge. London 1 hour by train from Newbury Station 15 minutes away. There are a variety of places to eat close by ranging from cosy pubs to fine dining restaurants. Vine Annex sleeps 4 one king sized double, one single and one small single in twin room.

Shalbourne is a beautiful village about 3 miles from Hungerford and 8 miles from Marlborough and in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We have a friendly village pub which has a large and varied menu and a village shop which serves delicious fresh coffee and pastries. The Annexe is a comfortable twin-bedded studio set in our 2 acre garden which has far reaching views over the surrounding countryside. There are great walks and cycle rides from our front door.

Escape to a tranquil rural setting in the heart of the Hampshire countryside and in the shadow of Watership Down. Beautiful self-contained accommodation surrounded by gardens in a historic village with easy access to a multitude of walks and local amenities. Nearby attractions include Highclere Castle, Greenham Common, Stone Henge, Newbury and Winchester. Oxford (35 miles), Bath (70 miles) and London 45 minutes on the train from Newbury or Basingstoke.

Charming Kintbury Cottage

This charming Victorian terraced cottage is situated in the heart of Kintbury. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby and the Kennet & Avon canal is within easy reach for fishing and cycling. The village has 2 nice pubs, a very good corner store and a delicatessen just a few minute's walk away. The property is also only a short distance from the station for trains to Newbury/Hungerford (5 minutes), Reading (35 minutes) or London (50 minutes).
