The Hide is a super get-away for anyone travelling around Scotland on the NC500 or on your own adventure looking for a unique stay. Almost off-grid, it has a comfy bed, central woodburner and spectacular view. It's the perfect stepping stone towards the full off-grid experience, intended for people who are curious about living the off-grid lifestyle but also like to be able to charge their phone, boil a kettle and have a hot shower! Mid Nov - Mar we have a winter mode as the water can freeze.

The recently refurbished and modernised Ethel's Cottage is in an idyllic location, flanked by two rivers. This gate lodge cottage offers the perfect place to stay for a few nights or longer! Easily accessed from the A9 (on the NC500 route) and just a two-minute walk from a secluded beach and estuary with lots of short walks from the front door and plenty longer ones in the vicinity. Modern appliances and comfortable furnishings, the cottage has everything you will need for a relaxing break.

Torran Cottage - Views, Exclusivity & Tranquility

Torran Cottage is nestled within a UNESCO World Heritage Site - The Flow Country! Whilst superbly modernised throughout, the cottage retains its original features, including wonderful flagstone flooring, deep-silled windows set into thick stone walls, and a large wood burner for cosy evenings. The views from the hot tub and gardens are unbelievable. Panoramic vistas look east to Morven and the Scarabens, south to Ben Klibreck and west to distant views of Ben Loyal and Ben Hope.

Coastal Cottage with Spectacular Views

Old country cottage built in 1873 set in the small village of Melvich with amazing coastal views and breathtaking scenery. On the North Coast 500 route, this property offers an ideal location for exploring both Caithness and Sutherland. Melvich boasts a sandy beach within a 5 minute walk from the cottage. This property has a private and enclosed garden with private parking. There is an open fire in the living room which would be set by the host. Dog friendly, max 2 dogs.

This converted building in the picturesque village of Melvich has been recently renovated and has amazing sea views including the Orkney islands! Offering WiFi, television, and off-road parking for one car. Also, with the new addition of a woodburning stove, you will certainly not be cold! Ideally situated for exploring the north of Sutherland and Caithness, this area is popular for walking, fishing, surfing, golfing and has one of the most beautiful beaches in the area!

The Annex at Borlum House Farm, Reay

In the heart of the Scottish Highlands and directly on the NC500 route, is Borlum House Farm, a lovingly restored 1700’s farm house in the beautiful little village of Reay. This couples retreat is warm and cosy, with a log burner, king size bed, an open plan living room with farmhouse style kitchen, fully equipped and with all the modern necessities to make you feel at home. We look forward to welcoming you. The Lodge and Bothy are also available for guests to book.

The Coach House at Manse House

Make some memories at this unique and friendly place. Originally the Coach House of the 18th century listed Manse House, the property was sympathetically converted in 2004. The property lies in the gardens of the Manse in central Tain. It has great access to the main visitor attractions of the Eastern Highlands and makes a great place to relax or to use as a comfortable spot from which to explore the Highlands. Pets are welcome. Fully equipped accommodation with two bedrooms (one double room, one twin room). Melvich is situated on the NC500 route and is ideally placed for exploring the local area. Local pub within walking distance serving evening meals. Booking is advised. Free Wifi available, however we cannot guarantee a reliable signal. Lovely beach nearby which is popular with surfers. Please note due to increased costs, guest now have to pay for the electric they use.

Nestled within the rugged beauty and hills just off the main A836 (NC500). Geordie’s Byre has a natural charm. Bijou ensuite accommodation with No TV! just peace and quiet, somewhere to put your head down! Ideal for an overnight stay. Situated in the village of Bettyhill in the Scottish Highlands, it boasts views across to Farr Bay and the Atlantic. Easy access to popular spots for cyclists, walkers, surfers, bikers, car enthusiasts and nature lovers.

The Byre - stone studio space, Talmine NC500/Beach

The Byre is a unique studio converted from a barn and is perfect for a peaceful break or romantic getaway! A comfortable hotel quality double mattress in self catering accommodation with stunning views of the sea and islands and within easy walk of a shop and beaches. A small but well equipped kitchenette with microwave, induction hob and small oven. Plenty of hot water for showering. A woodburner and 2 heaters. Great location as a base to explore.

Our caravan is on a small family working farm. Come and see the highland cows as well as rest of the farm animals. Your welcome to wonder about the farm/area at your leisure. There is a small sitting area outside with table and chairs. All beds are made and towels are included. Tea,Coffee,Sugar & biscuits included. Free use of Washing machine . Welcome to my 17th-century original working croft cottage. Set in the stunning Highlands, directly on the NC500 in the small rural village of Melvich. Just a short walk from Melvich beach great for swimming, fishing, surfing, or just a gentle stroll along the beach, a truly beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. The cottage whilst boasting all modern amenities still keeps a lot of its original features.
