Relax with the whole family on this peaceful working farm. Enjoy the farm animals and running stream in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Tour the Blue Ridge Parkway or Creeper Trail. Historic Wythe County, Wohlfahrt Theatre, Abingdon, Barter Theatre, Big Walker Lookout Shot Tower, Draper Mercantile and so much more. Get unplugged, no distracting internet. Fish in the pond or make smores at the firepit. Experience the farm with optional homegrown meals/tours. A little piece of heaven.

Ruby's Rest

NO CLEANING FEES. NO TO DO LISTS BEFORE CHECKING OUT. NO PET FEES. Cozy, private one room cottage (with bathroom), run by a loving, easy-going, non-judging family. Cottage measures 12' x 24' (total of 288sq. feet). Very relaxed environment. Flat rate of $50.00. UPDATE: Deck is now enclosed with old window panes. Super cozy. Has a sink with hot/old water, a hot plate, large toaster oven, and utensils. I am am still putting finishing touches on it, but available for use. Pictures soon.

The Channels Off Grid Retreat

Relax in a charming mountainside off-grid cabin at the border of the 4800-acre Channels State Forest. Close to the trailhead of the Brumley Mountain Trail, this cabin is a 3-mile hike from The Channels—a Natural Area Preserve home to a maze of breathtaking 400-million-year-old sandstone outcroppings and a rich, diverse forest ecosystem. The newly-renovated cabin offers the tranquility of the forest and proximity to some of the countries most awe-inspiring and well-preserved forestland.

Less than a 10-minute drive to the Creeper Trail and the Historic sites of Abingdon VA and Less than 5 miles to Emory and Henry College. Campside Cottage--a vacation retreat located across from Camp Burson at the entrance of Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, Virginia. Relax around the campfire, hike or bike the many trails, lounge on the beach with a good book, or cast your line to catch a big one! Enjoy the beautiful views of the Appalachian mountains while paddleboarding or kayaking Hungry Mother Lake. Don't forget to go shopping or sample the restaurants of America's Coolest Hometown! We are an ATV friendly town and House is located in quiet friendly neighborhood with plenty of parking.

You can purchase beef, pork, and chicken to cook while you’re here or bring a cooler and take some home.
