Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. Only an hour drive from Chicago, and close to Indiana Dunes National Park, it is the ultimate escape. Note: We have a 3 night minimum stay during summer, but open up 2 night stays 1-2 weeks before if possible.

The White Cottage Home

This cottage home was built less than 5 years ago. The space is modern and open. It’s located less than 10 mins walk to Lake Michigan beach access. Guests can walk a few minutes to enjoy nearby restaurants such as Dune Billies for breakfast and Cool Runnings Jamaican restaurant. There’s a nearby park and a small dune for short hikes. Other nearby attractions include the Washington park and zoo (5-10 min walk), Blue Chip casino (2 min drive), the Indiana Dunes National Park (20 min drive)

Lake Trail Cottage

Located just 1 mile from Lake Michigan. Lake Trail Cottage is the closest home in Pines and just minutes from Beverly Shores beaches! The cottage has two bedrooms one bath. With basement Rec room. Home sleeps 6. The primary bedroom features a Queen bed, 42in Smart TV. The second room has a full size bed. Pullout couch/ living room. Calumet Trail and South Shore Train (Chicago)is located directly behind home. South Shore train to Chicago is 1 mile from house. Bikes & beach supplies included.

Near beach, casino, dunes and an easy drive to Chicago, Michigan and Notre Dame! Walkable to South Shore Train (Chicago). Features: Signature deck with gas grill, hot tub, outdoor shower, dining table, lounge area and fire pit. Luxury lower level with its own living area, tv, two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a bar and laundry. Upstairs features an open kitchen/dining room with gas fireplace, separate living room, full bathroom with dual shower heads, a master suite and two bunkbed rooms.

The little house is located within a 170-acre modern farm community filled with open meadows, woods and dunes. Minutes to beach, 1 hour to Chicago. Relax and enjoy the property or head out to explore the lakeshore, wineries, and great area restaurants! Two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a fully appointed kitchen, living area w/fireplace, and a large screened in porch. Large windows flood the house with natural light and will make you feel like you're living in the treetops. A perfect getaway!

South Shore RV National Park.

Warning this is not a hook up or a party spot ! ..This is older but,very clean & well kept camper, located on five acres. 420 Friendly...It's a quarter mile from the National Park and under 2 mi to the Lake Michigan Waterfront of Kimel Beach. On a beautifully stocked pond with catfish,bluegill,bass, & croppie. Plenty of wildlife. If you book on a Sunday? I host Open Mic in my barn. 2 PM. Open to the public and musicians welcome. Normally, there is music playing around the property.
