We highly recommend the hike up to the Rob Roy Glacier, accessed from the Mount Aspiring National Park. There are view points along the way as you journey to the top of the trail head to the view of the hanging glacier, where you'll also likely be visited by Kea (native parrot). The walk is through stunning native Beech forest and mostly groomed. The drive up the valley crosses several fords - not all vehicle rental companies allow travel on this specific road. Please check your agreements first. Check road conditions prior to travel.
