The story of Carol I Park, considered one of the most beautiful in the capital, began more than a century ago, when it was designed by the Swiss landscape architect Eduard Redont. The surface of the park located on Dealul Filaretului, once covered by vineyards, is 45 hectares. It was inaugurated in 1906 on the occasion of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the reign of King Carol I and the 25th anniversary of the proclamation of the Kingdom of Romania. Then a jubilee exhibition was organized in which the Freedom Park was also presented, as Carol I Park is also known.
