Perched on the winding River Brit, complete with a functioning waterwheel, this is also the only thatched brewery in the UK. As well as producing award-winning ales and beers, Palmers also own some of the best-known and best-loved pubs in the South West

The stunning scenery here alone makes it worth a visit whether or not you have your walking boots. There are lots of points where you can take in the view whilst enjoying a cream tea or a local beer
