Short on time? The Airlie Creek track is a perfect escape into nature, right out of the heart of Airlie Beach, with access from Waterson Way. The return track is 1.7km long and will take roughly an hour to complete, It is home to some magnificent subtropical plants, endangered rock wallabies as well as an incredible fig tree about halfway along the path (below). The reward at the end is a stunning sloping natural rock pool and trickling waterfalls that come to life in the wet season.

An 850m track which slowly winds up the hill behind Airlie Beach along a gravel path. The track winds through tranquil forest which is home to magnificent fig trees, sub-tropical plants, beautiful native birds and ends up at scenic natural rock pools. The walk back offers views of the beautiful blue Coral Sea and Whitsunday Islands. Allow one hour and take plenty of water.
