Opposite the gates of 10 Downing Street, this is Westminster’s essential boozer. It’s nothing special, but virtually everyone who drinks here has got something to tell you they’ll probably regret. In the ’90s, Prime Minister John Major famously called Britain “the land of warm beer,” so if you’re going to have one anywhere, you may as well here. There are plenty of hand-pumped ales to choose from, and they change all the time. If you’re not sure, ask for something light in colour. The dark beers are not for beginners.

superb pub - incredibly friendly and hospital owners - including two friendly and chilled out dogs (deer hounds) - delicious roasts and beer- beautiful location in Coleshill surrounded by excellent walks, 10 minutes drive, also walkable take about 1hr
