Banff Sunshine sits high on the Continental Divide in the heart of Banff National Park just 15 minutes' drive from the cozy mountain town of Banff. The Sunshine Village Access Road is only 8 km (5 miles) west of Banff on the Trans-Canada #1 Highway.
Banff Sunshine Village, famous for Canada's Best Snow and three mountains off diverse terrain. At Sunshine we're proud to feature runs ranging from easy greens to the hardest double blacks.
I love this ski hill! Maybe my favourite in the area. It never feels busy on the hill, but the parking lot fills up on the weekend, so head there early or go on a weekday. There is a gondola up to the ski area ... we usually ski out at the end of the day.
Since 1928, Sunshine Village Ski & Snowboard Resort has been serving up endless mountain terrain in the heart of an unspoiled wilderness 1 h 42 min (143.7 km) via Trans-Canada Hwy/AB-1 W
Take the gondola up to the slopes of Sunshine for some of Alberta's best skiing! Our favourite run?! Take the Wawa Quad chair up to Shaken Not Stirred (Black Diamond)!

“To ski or ride Norquay, is to do it completely on your terms. We’re the high-action mountain with zero pressure (plus, we’re all really nice here – ask us for our favourite Norquay spots). Ski lines on our steeper terrain, take it easy on our gentle, undulating groomers and perfectly-groomed beginner runs, or test your tricks-status on our terrain park. However you choose to Norquay, do it with a big dose of fun, and make sure to take in the mighty peaks of Banff National Park that surround us – it’s 360 degrees of awesome.”

“Are you a fan of disc golf? Then this is the course you are going to fall in love with! Almost a hike in itself, the scenery is amazing, and the course is challenging. You can hire discs at Trail Sports on-site, or buy them cheap downtown at Sports Experts. Don't forget to rent some bear spray at Trail Sports if you don't already have some - this is well and truly bear country. If you don't want quite such a challenging option, try the disc golf course at Three Sisters. Located on Riva Heights, it is 9 easy holes, and it's wide open. There is still wildlife up there - bears and elk are common, but it is not as risky as the Nordic Centre if you don't have bear spray.”
