Hawaii is the only state in the nation that grows coffee, and there's a plantation about 15 minutes outside of Poipu. If you're going to buy bags of coffee, keep it out of your carry on as TSA will have to rifle through your bag to check it. Lion coffee on the Big Island is probably about as good as it gets, but coffee fanatics will love the plantation for the tastings and history.

Kauai Coffee presents a cute educational tour / walk-thru display of coffee cultivation and processing. Gift shop has nice offerings. This is about a thirty minute stop, with free coffee samples offered.
