The Leederville Precinct The old Leederville shopping area became a ghost town after the north freeway was built as it cut off that part of Oxford Street. Years ago a young French guy with his aussie wife, started a cafe in one of the vacant shops. Things started to happen in the area once again, such that now, it is one of Perth’s best trendy cafe/restaurant strips. You can walk down the street and go under the freeway overpass and be there in 5 minutes. There is an alternative cinema there and a large choice of eating places and some not so expensive. The local supermarket there sells top quality items, and although more expensive than a normal suburban supermarket, is open 24hrs and caters for food on the go. There is a lot to explore in Oxford Street, both up and down the street from where you entered.

Catch a train to Joondalup, Perth or Mandurah...easy to walk to. The free Green Cat bus to Perth goes during weekdays from the bottom of the pedestrian overpass on Southport side.

Leederville is the hub of great restaurants, bars and cafes. Great eclectic shopping too! Jane

An easy 10 min walk is the closest train stop to go direct to Perth Central Station or to go into the Northern suburbs like Joondalup which has the largest shopping centre in Perth.
