Accomplished chef Antonietta di Pasquale whisks our taste buds away to Sicily, whilst our physical bodies remain, caught between Cuauhtémoc and another one of the oldest hearts of Mexico City- Santa Maria La Ribera (it’s still a relatively well-kept secret, and so worth a visit). Fluffy pizzas, freshly made pasta, Sicilian snacks (crispy fried calamari drizzled with olive oil and lemon and for the sweet tooth, homemade cannolis) and the cutest little outdoor space to savour it all. Personally, my favourite time to head to this little haven is on a lazy weekday (nudge nudge digital nomads and freelancers), or Saturday afternoon, when the sun is bright and only wine and fresh tomato sauce all over your face will do

The beauty of this restaurant is that it is located in the backyard of a classic house in Santa María la Ribera. María Ciento38 is in the street that bears the same name as the neighborhood. To enter you must cross a corridor that takes you to a terrace that makes you feel at home campirano. From the region of Palermo, Sicily, Antonietta Di Pasquale, the chef who heads the kitchen of this family establishment, decided to adjust the seasoning of her dishes by importing her main supplies from Italy.

"Located in an old house originally built in 1868, decorated with plants and lights in a very European style, Maria Cent38 promises to transport you out of the city even for a brief moment. But not only is it a charming place, the real magic is in its menu. In this place you can find breakfasts and meals cooked with completely fresh ingredients (not canned or frozen), created by “nonna” who assures that they are one hundred percent Sicilian dishes passed down for generations among her family. (We recommend making a reservation)".
