hire a little sailboat, SUP or kayak, bike or just go for a walk. Food trucks are sometimes around and the cafes close to the bridge are worth a look. You can take the ferry across to the city and elizbeth quay, walk into kings park or visit the zoo! if your feeling active its a 10k river loop!

The South Perth Foreshore is an iconic tourist destination with views of Perth city across the Swan River. For those looking for something active, there’s plenty of open space to kick a football, play cricket, fly a kite, walk your dog or work up a sweat on the walking or cycle paths. Access to the river is available at Coode Street beaches and boat ramp, Mends Street beach and at Mill Point near the Narrows Bridge. The Scented Gardens at the western end of Sir James Mitchell Park near Mends Street offer a quiet escape to sit and relax, as do the lakes area near Douglas and Hurlingham Avenues. There are picnic tables, barbecues, toilets, cafes, outdoor exercise equipment and four children’s playgrounds on the foreshore.

With the river winding past at a lazy pace and the city reflected in the calm waters and with Kings Park in the background it is hard to go past a better view. You can stretch your legs along the endless sidewalks, or rest on the spacious lawns. Perth has broad green spaces on both sides of the river. This provides vistas, walk ways, cycle ways and various other activities.
