Made famous by the artist John Constable. Great place for boating (these can be hired) or bring your own paddle board. Beautiful walks and places to eat.

Well worth a visit. Both Flatford and Dedham are lovely places.

English Heritage has listed the whole of Flatford Mill in Dedham. And when you go you will know why. It feels like a Jane Austin novel in front of your eyes. Constable painted the Haywain here and the actual cottage Willie Lot's - is still in the same place across the lake. Hire wooden boats to meander down the river, snack and have tea at the Flatford Mill cafe or go for lunch at Milsoms ( sister restaurant to The Pier and Le Talbooth).
