Norm's is a burger and shake place that has been in Kalispell for as long as I can remember. Let us know before you go and we'll be sure to give you a 'buy one get one free' coupon for there out of this world, very large milkshakes (Huckleberry! Yum!). About half a mile walk from the house.

Sweet Peaks is a local ice cream shoppe with all homemade ice cream. They change up their flavors seasonally and I have yet to try one I didn't love. Less than 1/2 mile walk from the house.

Ceres Bakery is on Main Street (as is Norm's News and Sweet Peaks) and offers some wonderful bakery treats. Not your typical bakery... you won't find any donuts here. You will find some tasty scones, chocolate croissants, crostatas, danishes, and great coffee.

Tamarack is a great place to go for great drinks and good food. It is located in Lakeside, just a 20 minute drive from Kalispell. It is a few blocks from Flathead Lake. We love to go on Tuesday nights for Tamarack Tuesday Night Trivia. Lakeside has recently gained some pretty great restaurants (Tamarack, the Farmhouse, Seven, and Glacier Perks are all great places to grab a bite before going out on the lake).

We love love love Serranos. It may not be 'authentic', but the people are fabulous, the atmosphere is laid back, and the food is delicious. Plus - they have a hostel (& cabins) just out the back door, so if you have one too many margaritas, all you have to do is walk 15 feet and lay down... lol. We love Serranos and have stayed in the hostel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, cheap place to stay in East Glacier.

Plus - they have a hostel (& cabins) just out the back door, so if you have one too many margaritas, all you have to do is walk 15 feet and lay down... lol. We love Serranos and have stayed in the hostel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, cheap place to stay in East Glacier.

Cool old mansion with some neat history. They do tours and quite a few special, themed events throughout the year (ice cream socials, murder mystery dinners, a chocolate affair, etc.). 2 blocks from the house.

Montana Marie’s (formerly Think Local) is a FABULOUS shop about 4 blocks from the house on Main Street. Everything they sell is made by Montanans. They have handmade wooden toys, food/spices, photography, beauty products, jewelry, and Montana themed work. It is my favorite spot in town.

Kehoe's is one of our favorite places in the valley, and has been for as long as I can remember. It offers stone, agates, and gems from around the world, including a number of stones found to Montana. They sell fossils, jewelry, stunning agate bookends, even small trinkets for kids (small packs of Montana agate, stone animals, etc.). Kehoe's is definitely off the beaten track, but well worth the trip.

Want to entertain the kids?
This place has it all... an awesome life-size maze, bumper boats, (weird) basketball, and so much more. I love this place. It is awfully touristy, but still a lot of fun.
