Accessible by foot for about 1.5 hours on either side of low tide, this island offers stunning views of Salem Sound and Marblehead. A great picnic spot up on the field. There are lovely trails up the wooded hill, but you need to be careful of poison ivy!

Gashouse Beach and Gerry Island – One of Monica's very favorite places is at the end of Gashouse Lane. Gashouse Beach is very smal, especially at high tide, but has lovely views. The sand gives way to a rocky bottom as you enter the water, so swimming either requires water shoes or a person who isn't put off by rocks and sometimes a little seaweed. Low tide gives you the opportunity to walk out to Gerry Island and enjoy great views of Salem Sound, and perhaps an encounter with a wild turkey or two. There's a rocky little beach you can climb down to if you want to have a very private swim into a mooring area. It's great for picnicking. But *be careful* of two things: poison ivy, and watch the tide, as the rocky pathway out to the island gets covered over as the tide comes in!
