Bernie's is the best restaurant in Columbiana, & offers some well-prepared dishes in a renovated Main Street shop (picture lots of brick, wood beams, and high tin ceiling).

Morgan Creek is a wonderful nearby vineyard specializing in Muscadine and fruit wines. A dear friend operates the tasting room and gift shop, and will give you a tour of the facility. Morgan Creek grows their own grapes, so you can be assured their wines are locally sourced (unlike some "vineyards" that import juices).

Parks & Nature
Dunnavant Trail is only 10 minutes away, and is a pleasant, easy 1.5 mile trail along Yellow Leaf Creek. There is no entrance/use fee charged. Several places along the creek are suitable for wading, but not deep enough for swimming or tubing. The woods are mixed pine and hardwoods. It's a nice location to see native Oak Leaf Hydrangeas (Alabama's state wildflower) and Mountain Laurel blooming in season.

From US-280 west out of Chelsea, turn right after 2.7 miles onto Dunnavant Valley Road. In 1.2 miles on the right is a gravel parking lot for trail access.

Kymulga Grist Mill and Covered Bridge are both over 150 years old, and in a quiet country setting. The mill is still functional, and mill products are available for purchase. Open 10-5, Wed. thru Sun.
