Food Scene

This place is great if you want to taste czech cuisine, but they cook very well even international cuisine. I recommend Café Louvre also for evening tasty home-made cakes and coffee to take a rest after visiting Prague. The interior will bring you back in time. Try the restaurant that has been loved by such as Franz Kafka, Karel Capek or Albert Einstein during his professorship in Prague :) Take the metro to the station Národní třída (yellow line), the restaurant Louvre is 2 minutes from this station by walk :) http://cafelouvre.cz/en

Architectural and gastronomical gem full of Grand Cafe atmosphere, whose chief cook is the Czech Jamie Oliver:) The ambience is really great and the food even more than great. You'll take the tram number 3 or 8 and get off on the station Bílá labuť, the restaurant is just in front of it:) P.S: I recommend to do a reservation as this restaurant is full most of the time. http://www.cafeimperial.cz/en/

Restaurant "Lehká hlava", which means Clear head:) A vegetarian restaurant that aims to satisfy your senses and clear your mind. The enchanting building in which the restaurant is situated since 2005, is over 500 years old and has countless stories to tell. Very nice interior, very well situated - and what is even more important: great food that should satisfy every vegetarian! :) P.S: Reservation for dinner needed : +420 222 220 665. Otherwise you should find a free table:)

Arts & Culture

Once a normal wall, since the 1980s it has been filled with John Lennon-inspired graffiti and pieces of lyrics from Beatles' songs. In 1988, the wall was a source of irritation for the communist regime of Gustáv Husák. Young Czechs would write grievances on the wall and in a report of the time this led to a clash between hundreds of students and security police on the nearby Charles Bridge. The wall continuously undergoes change and the original portrait of Lennon is long lost under layers of new paint. Even when the wall was repainted by some authorities, on the second day it was again full of poems and flowers. Today, the wall represents a symbol of global ideals such as love and peace.

The library in the Strahov Monastery is one of the most beautiful libraries in the world and a true gem of Prague. Library played an important role in Czech history. There are about 200 000 old prints, mostly from the period between the 16 th and the 18 th century, around 3000 manuscripts and 1500 first prints. There are two splendidly decorated halls: the Theological Hall and the Philosophical Hall - just look at photos and you will understand:)

The Powder Tower is one of the original 13 city gates in Old Town, Prague. The tower was intended to be an attractive entrance into the city, instead of a defensive tower. If you don't mind to climb a little, don't miss the perfect views that the top of the tower has to offer. You will see whole Prague as it was on your hand:)
