Rigensis is an excellent bakery!!! Delicious cakes, pastries,cookies, bread and coffee too. Atmosphere is very cosy and relaxing. Everything is super tasty, fresh and cheap!!! A must visit when in Riga!!! :)

Lido Alus Sēta is perfect if you want to try some traditional latvian food. Relaxing atmosphere and very cheap prices. There is buffet style where you can choose whatever and how many you would like. Food is tasty and locals loves this place :)

Šefpavārs Vilhelms wonderful pancakes and an authentic experience! Lots of choices for vegetarians too. Everything is made fresh frequently and right in front of you. If you love pancakes/crepes, this is the place for you. Choose from crepes stuffed with mushrooms, cheese, fruits, etc. They also have potato pancakes and a variety of coffee/cappuccino choices. Everything is delicious and the prices are very cheap!!! :)

Lovely Restaurant Neiburgs is located inside a hotel, in gorgeous art nouveau building. Very well prepared international food with a local touch. Very good service. Lunch is really great value and tasty :)

Restaurant Province is excellent choice if you want to try some of Latvian traditional delicious foods. It's a cosy, comfortable restaurant which makes you feel like right at home. It's located in the same building my apartment is only entrance is in the other side of the building. Wonderful location :)

Wonderful Coffee Shop with delicious coffee and pastries! Relaxing and peaceful atmosphere! Good coffee is always a good idea! I love to stop by almost always on my way back home! :)

Rīga central market is clean, lively with colours and goods. It consists of several pavilions where the roofs of those are made from zeppelin - a flying objects from the beginning of last century .
Each pavilion specialises in something. The pavilion closest to the river Daugava has all sort of fish. After - vegetable pavilion then bread/ spices and honey, then - milk and cheese pavilion. The one parallel to the city canal is the meat pavilion.
There is a reasonable fish restaurant in connecting corridor between fish and vegetable pavilions.
Outside areas are what you see - fruits, vegetables which fades into other industrial goods. Great prices and great deals :)

Folkklubs Ala Pagrabs is grea! It's placed under a building and it is bigger than it seems at first. Food is delicious, cheap and portions are large. Their beer selection is outstanding! So many choices! Live music during weekdays :)

Riga's old town is such a beautiful place that you never get bored of it, even if yiu have walked it through several times. Rozena street is one of the hidden gems of it. As many people do not know it, then usually it's quite quiet there. Rozena street is not only one of the shortest but also the narrowest street in Riga. If your arms are long enough you can touch both of the walls lining the street. You might also fancy a beer in the beer garden or in a medieval restaurant located at both ends of the street. House of Blackheads buildings have and impressive architecture and history. It is so lovely to sit and catch your breath in the square and admire the magical House of Blackheads. Very nice ambience and when the sun hits the building it's like magic, just really really beautiful in real life :)

St. Peters Church is very authentic and beautiful, and of course a must see! :) Originally a Catholic church now Lutheran. The original wooden tower was the highest in Europe when built. It has been destroyed many times. It was rebuilt in 1973. It is a seriously impressive church. Take the lift for spectacular views of the city. It cost 9 euro for the lift which also covers the 3 euro charge to the church. This is the best view in the old town and you can make a really beautiful photos from there.Enjoy :)

One of the most beautiful places, set in a semicircle of greenery, is a hill built over the former Sand Bastion. Beautiful stone embankments with small cascades and waterfalls resemble mountain river. It is beautifully landscaped with little bridges, flowers, and benches to sit on. There are statues throughout the park, a canal where you can rent small boats, a bridge with love keys :)

Latvian National Opera is amazing!!! If you're in Riga, one of the most cultural capitals of the world, and you're willing to try more than just walking around and sightseeing, then you just have to try the Latvian National Opera. Prices are very reasonable, ranging from €5 to€35, and the dress code is very diverse, ranging from causal to suit and (bow)tie. The Opera House itself is very neatly decorated, albeit in good taste. Once again, greatly recommended! :)
