Parks & Nature
This is a breathtaking beach, it is the closest beach from the house. You walk through the woods down to the valley, following the meandering river. You pass by Pennard castle and emerge onto the pebbles with the view of the three cliffs. It is a good idea to wear wellies on this walk in winter as it is easier to walk across the shallow river and onto the beach. Alternatively, there are stepping stones in front of the lifeguard hut. There is a large tide, so always be aware when it is incoming. Be cautious of paddling near the river mouth as it has a strong rip.
