The Fire Island Ferries are located about 10 minutes from my home and you can take the Ferry over to any one of the 3 Islands. You can walk down to the beach, or you can go to one of the many restaurants on the water and eat great food on the outdoor patios and watch the people and boats come in. There is also some shopping there.
