Staten Island is a bird watchers dream. Home to the greatest habitat diversity in New York City, Staten Island is home to herons, purple martins, osprey and more. Birding on Staten Island is a great resource for information about the types of birds that live on the Island, and when and where you can best find them. The Staten Island Museum frequently offers Natural History walks that bring guests through the Borough’s many wooded areas. Themed treks bring people up close to nature. Please visit their site for different parks and events
