This is a Funky, hippy-vibe coffee/book store like place. Operated by Ganas - a cult -( look them up). Anyway, they serve coffee, tea, bagels, cake, cookies. They have local poetry readings, music, art. There are 2 small extra floors with old books and records and cassette tapes... you can sit and read or computer all day and they are happy to have you.

It sits under the Verrazono Bridge right on the Beach - This is a place for the Real Explorer... Incredible views of New York and the Ocean - Forgotten and spooky. Walk down the Beach Path and rent a bike on the Boardwalk - you can go for miles... Hard to believe you're in a city - great for Dogs.

This is right off the Ferry on the Manhattan side. It's amazing Park system along the water - you can ride a bike or walk for Miles - there are all kinds of activities as you walk or ride along with some of the most incredible views of the NYC/Hudson River.... Everyone should go here and explore the city from here!!

this is a used clothes store run by a local cult... I am not making this up. It's stuffed with clothing and will take you hours - but if you are a retro-thrifter you will love it. Or if you are running the NY Marathon and you need temporary cheap clothing this is perfect

Again this little block of place is for explorers

The Lighthouse is run by a Fire Chief who will tell you the History and show you beautiful miniatures of lighthouses all over the world.... they have secret boat tours around the forgotten piers and water ways of Staten Island - this is a EXPLORER History Nerd thing to do - IT'S GREAT...

On the Manhattan side you can get the Bus or the Subways R - 1, 4,5,6 or even the J a couple of blocks into wall street
