This is a really neat spot to visit for a few drinks. Historic Range Rider's Lodge is a true gem of Silver Gate. Built in the 1800's this building was a frequent spot for Hemingway to hang out at. There is even a small tribute museum there in the back. The bar is open 6-10 every night in summer and they have some good games to play too. Live music periodically.

Sightseeing

For a beautiful close, short walk: Just walk north (turn upward) on River St. Keep going straight, past the school house and playground and then veer left at the fork. That is Miller trail. It will give you a really nice view of Cooke City from up high, goes on and on too... but has great views as soon as you are up the hill a little ways.

Shopping

A great historical attraction is The Cooke City General Store (giant red building on Main and River) This is the oldest building in Cooke City with wonderful charm inside. Many of the original appliances and fixtures are inside. This is the best chance of finding what you need from a store or grocer while visiting Cooke, there's a little bit of everything inside.
