Getting Around

Funicular de Vallvidrera, build 1906 to connect Peu De Funicular with the mountain village of Vallvidrera.
It was designed by the architects Bonaventura Conill i Montobbio and Arnald Calvet i Peyronill in the Catalan Modernist style. It is a building with parabolic profile openings and a plastered wall floor with Secessionist-style decoration.

The Parc del Laberint d’Horta in the Horta-Guinardó district is the oldest preserved park in Barcelona, thanks to its distance to the center, usually completely neglected by tourists. But from our place it's just a 10-minutes ride by car. Guided tour by the scientific staff inside the Observatory that will allow you to get to know first hand all the architectural and scientific heritage of the building. You will receive explanations of all active sections: astronomy, meteorology and seismology. They will also show you the modernist room, the museum, the dome and operation of the two centuries-old telescopes, the library, the panoramic terrace with spectacular views over the city. Finally you will know the life of the farmers who lived in the building at the beginning of the 20th century.
Hours: Sundays and public holidays in the morning at 11am. The visit lasts an hour and a half, approximately until 12:30. No booking required. As a precaution, the maximum capacity will be 20 people and you must wear a protective mask.

In the uppermost part of Sant Gervasi is the emblematic Avinguda Tibidabo, located at the foot of the Tibidabo mountain. This street is best known for its magnificent modernist homes commissioned by the turn of the century bourgeoisie as well as for the Tramvia Blau, or ‘Blue Tramway’, that runs up the steep avenue leaving passengers at the Tibidabo funicular that takes them to the Tibidabo amusement park or Sagrat Cor Temple. Have you read Carlos Ruiz Zafón’s Shadow of the Wind, "La sombra del viento"? Then you will have recognized the street already. Great place when you appreciate tranquility but also wish to see examples of the beautiful architecture that Barcelona has to offer.

Avinguda del TibidaboIn the uppermost part of Sant Gervasi is the emblematic Avinguda Tibidabo, located at the foot of the Tibidabo mountain. This street is best known for its magnificent modernist homes commissioned by the turn of the century bourgeoisie as well as for the Tramvia Blau, or ‘Blue Tramway’, that runs up the steep avenue leaving passengers at the Tibidabo funicular that takes them to the Tibidabo amusement park or Sagrat Cor Temple. Have you read Carlos Ruiz Zafón’s Shadow of the Wind, "La sombra del viento"? Then you will have recognized the street already. Great place when you appreciate tranquility but also wish to see examples of the beautiful architecture that Barcelona has to offer.
