Visit Sarriás own neighbourhood market. Mercat de Sarrià for fresh food or for having lunch like Catalans do in typical historical market hall usually just visited by locals. A market - probably much more authentic than any of the others you are likely to find downtown. In terms of food you will find here a great variety of fresh local quality products. When you enter the main street of Sarriá, the Carrer Major de Sarriá you will find a little supermarket on your right hand side and many little fruit shops, bakeries, caffee-houses and much more...

Bakery and natural food. Awesome place to have a quick delicious breakfast to power up before further heading downtown. They have the BEST quiche in town!! 22 Min. walking distance from Stella Maris. The place is quit small though. But you could do take away and watch the people at the church square just around the corner while enjoying your breakfast. If you look for something more comfortable check out "El Fornet" walking five minutes downhill the Carrer Major de Sarriá or 3 Min uphill from where you came, the Santagloria.

The Sant Vicenç de Sarrià church was founded over 1000 years ago. Situated at the charming Plaça del Consell de la Vila and Plaça de Sant Vicenç de Sarrià squares that look like they belong more in a small town in the Pyrenees than in Barcelona. A great place to start or to end your visit to Sarriá. As a former village that was incorporated into the city in 1921, a lot of Sarrià’s small town charm still remains intact. Today it is quarter to visit for people who want to get to know Barcelona a bit better.

The Parc del Laberint d’Horta in the Horta-Guinardó district is the oldest preserved park in Barcelona, thanks to its distance to the center, usually completely neglected by tourists. But from our place it's just a 10-minutes ride by car. The site, which lies on the slope of the Serra de Collserola ridge, includes an 18th-century classicist garden, which has elements of a romantic 19th-century garden and can be visited for a very small entrance fee.

In the uppermost part of Sant Gervasi is the emblematic Avinguda Tibidabo, located at the foot of the Tibidabo mountain. This street is best known for its magnificent modernist homes commissioned by the turn of the century bourgeoisie as well as for the Tramvia Blau, or ‘Blue Tramway’, that runs up the steep avenue leaving passengers at the Tibidabo funicular that takes them to the Tibidabo amusement park or Sagrat Cor Temple. Have you read Carlos Ruiz Zafón’s Shadow of the Wind, "La sombra del viento"? Then you will have recognized the street already. Great place when you appreciate tranquility but also wish to see examples of the beautiful architecture that Barcelona has to offer.

Science Museum / Museo de la Ciencia - CosmoCaixa. Unlike most of the city’s more well-known museums, Barcelona’s science museum is tucked away in the upper part of town. Don’t let this throw you off. The CosmoCaixa is a top quality museum that is an absolute must for science lovers. Particularly remarkable is its astonishingly realistic "Flooded Forest", a replica of the amazonian rainforest of Pará, Brazil that includes more than 100 species of animals and plants. Also recommended are its planetarium and its popular Toca Toca (‘Touch, touch’), where visitors are allowed to touch certain plants and animals under staff supervision.
