Located in the basement of the lovely Congress Hall hotel. There is an entrance on Perry Street, or you can walk through the hotel entrance, ooh and ahh and the beautiful interiors as you pass the living room, piano bar and restaurant, and head down the stairs to find this place. It's got so much in one spot: lively bar, live music, fresh delicious brick oven pizza and salads, dancing, dj's and more. The Boiler Room is always a fun stop - not the best option with kids. Better for a date night or group outing of adults. Lot of tables and seating.

Cape May Point State Park and Natural Area meet the ocean and are filled with abundant flora and fauna. It's very popular with birders, and just a short walk or bike ride from the house. via their website: "Several blazed trails lead visitors to various pond, coastal dune, marsh and forest habitats of the park where wildlife can be viewed from observation platforms. This natural area is significant along the East Coast for its resident and migratory birds and includes habitat suitable for northern and southern species of fauna and flora." tip: Walk out past the lighthouse and museum, and up the ramp towards the beach. There you will see an old WW2 bunker on the beach, named Battery 223.

The original eco -tour operation in Cape May starting in 1987. We were the forerunners in exploring our surrounding waters, the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay, for Whales, Dolphins & Birds with an emphasis on their interconnectedness to our eco-system and layering the experience by underscoring the importance of conservation. We are recognized as an Opportunistic Research Vessel utilizing “Citizen Scientists” to help our Marine Naturalists with our ongoing research. Incorporating “Citizen Scientists,” into our research has been crucial to our success. The Citizens directly support, through their patronage, our research that has grown over the years. Their fares make it possible for The Cape May Whale Watch & Research Center to continue the development of the Bottlenose Dolphin Catalogue and our continued work with Photo Identification of Humpbacks and other Baleen Whales as well as our Clean Ocean Initiative Program. https://capemaywhalewatch.com/

I added the town of Cape May Point, because it's really so special and lovely to ride bikes around, look at all the old houses and churches, and feel the history of the place. A bit of history: Among the smallest beach resorts on the New Jersey coast, CMP was founded in 1875 by Philadelphians John Wanamaker, the originator of the department store, and Alexander Whilldin, a wool merchant. Its population of 291 grows to 4,500 in summer, and it has 600 houses and two businesses, the Cape May Point General Store (now called The Red Store) and the gift shop at the Cape May Bird Observatory. Kids' Stuff

There are so many great places to bring kids, many of which are listed in other categories (like the zoo, alpaca farm, fireman's museum, etc), but here are a few more that kids (and kids at heart!) will also love.

Located at the tip of NJ at the end of Sunset Blvd, Sunset Beach has a few fun attractions that make a trip with kids fun and easy. (It's about 10 minutes from the Center of Cape May, and a 2-minute drive or 10-minute walk down the beach, from the house). There are a three cute gift shops (shells, geodes, toys, souvenirs, snacks, books, and much more), a miniature golf course, a sunken ship just off the shore and a WW2 Lookout Tower. The beach here is free as well and rumored to be the best place to find Cape May Diamonds. Parking in the lot is free and there is also a little beach grille where you can grab a bite! Nothing fancy, very down to earth.
