Waverley Abbey was the first Cistercian abbey in England founded in 1128 by William Giffard, the Bishop of Winchester.

It is a total distance of 5.2 k so about a 45 minute stroll.
The Little Pond is a sanctuary for both wildlife and people.

Schedule in a stop at the Tern cafe which offers beverages and light snacks.
If you keep walking you can go on to Frensham Big pond where there is a cafe too selling the most fantastic chips!

It is a total distance of 5.2 k so about a 45 minute stroll.
The Little Pond is a sanctuary for both wildlife and people.
This tranquil space with wide skies and open views across prickly heathland it is the perfect place to unwind.
Schedule in a stop at the Tern cafe which offers beverages and light snacks.
If you keep walking you can go on to Frensham Big pond where there is a cafe too selling the most fantastic chips!

You can also see a replica of the Atlantic Wood constructed by Canadian troops and used as a major training aid during the 2nd World War.

Tilford RoadHankley Common is just across the road. It is 560 hectare nature reserve and filming location. The site has woodland and lowland heath with heather and gorse. Birds include nightjars and Dartford warblers. You may also spot deer.
You can also see a replica of the Atlantic Wood constructed by Canadian troops and used as a major training aid during the 2nd World War.
