If you stay in Messanges at the beginning of October, you have to visit Hossegor during the World Surf League’s Quiksilver Pro, when you can watch professional surfers from all over the globe battle it out in the water.
The town is also of interest for non-surfers :-) There are many small boutiques offering local handicrafts. You can also browse through many cloth shops, that offer great quality and in July / August, you will find splendid bargains. There are many healthy food options.

Discover this 7.4-km loop trail near Soorts-Hossegor, Landes.
Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 36 min to complete. This trail is great for running and walking. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.
Description: This magnificent promenade circles the lake of Hossegor and is lined with information panels. It is exclusively reserved for pedestrians, which will guarantee you total tranquility. You will discover, among other things, the architectural richness of the resort.
